Spicy Egg Curry
I have been making this North Indian flavored simple egg curry for years. It's a nice variation from nut and cream based gravy and it tastes surprisingly delicious! One friend once asked what type of nut I used because of its rich korma type taste. But there is no korma ingredients in this egg curry, just everyday pantry staples, yet the finished product looks as pretty as korma because of its color and texture using simple blend of spices. So I am pretty hooked to this recipe whenever I need to whip up something korma type to serve with white rice, toasty naan or paratha.

Singapore Noodles
Singapore noodles packed with curry flavor for quick lunch or supper is great for any days. According to Wikipedia, it's a very popular Cantonese style noddles in Hong Kong with no connection with Singapore. Stir fried colored vegetables along with rice vermicelli, shrimp, egg and other meat are used in this easy cooking process that takes only 30 minutes. The classic curry sauce is a salty, spicy but not too spicy and slightly sweet concoction. I double for more kick. This is absolutely delicious to savor leftovers for the next day and it's definitely a keeper.

Challah
It's the time of the year when I love to bake lots of goodies. Challah is one them and I've been baking it for years during Christmas time mostly. It tastes as great as store bought. It's so exciting to see golden crusted braided Challah comes out from the oven that looks stunning but easy to do. The Challah is a traditional 4-12 strand braided bread. My 4, 5 and 6 strand braided Challah look fabulous and I just feel like a pro; but I am not, because I haven't mastered to braid more than 6 strand Challah yet.

Persian Love Cake
Persian cuisine is all time family favorite, be it sweet or savory. When I first time made this unique cake 5 months back, I was quite skeptical about using ground almond and pistachio in the cake batter. But it turned out so delicious and moist, infused with a distinctive Persian flavor. It rose so beautifully and we loved its perfect balance of cardamom, rose water and saffron flavor. The cake was not too sweet but incredibly rich and delicious. My tween made it a few days back with a little bit of help from me and it turned out great. She made Bastani Sonnati also known as Persian Ice Cream as well and I paired it with Persian Love Cake. Trust me, it takes to a whole new level.

Dimer Jhol/ Bengali Egg Curry
Ma used to make this curry with duck eggs and potatoes for an easy protein dish with few pantry ingredients if fish was not available. It brings back a lot of memories indeed. She would add chopped tomatoes and fresh green peas in winter months. Slowly sauteed onions, garlic, ginger, and tomatoes and spices on low flame delivers the best flavor and textured gravy to this curry which is perfect to savor with plain rice or roti/flat bread and cucumber-onion salad on the side.
