Pomegranate Martini

Let's toast to a healthy and happy New Year with  delicious Martini.

I have been planning to make this cocktail since Thanksgiving. Due to various reasons, I wasn't able to make it earlier. I had focused on baking and cooking mostly. That's my top priority always. Finally I am ready to make this delightful sweet-tart  cocktail with freshly  home made juice for New YEAR'S  Eve. This is my first time making Martini. Fresh pomegranate juice mixed with good quality Vodka and Cointreau or Triple sec, lime juice and crushed ice make absolutely fantastic cocktail for any holidays. If you are hosting a party, serve this Martini to brighten up the celebration.

This year our pomegranate tree has produced big big sweet  fruits. They are so delicious.

I knew I would make this cocktail soon so I had saved some.

You are going to need~

*4 oz pomegranate juice(homemade or store bought)
*2 oz  good quality vodka
*1 oz Cointreau or Triple sec
*1 tsp freshly squeeze lime juice
*2 tsp sugar
*1 1/2 cup crushed ice
*1 lime wedge to coat the rim of martini glasses
* lime slices or twists (optional)
* Raw or sanding sugar to coat the rim of martini glasses
*Garnish with vodka infused pomegranate seeds(optional)
* Cocktail shaker

Method~
Soak pomegranate seeds in vodka overnight or at least 5-6 hours. To coat the rim of martini glass, wet with lime juice and dip the rim in a bowl of raw sugar. Chill martini glasses in the fridge for 15 minutes. Put vodka infused pomegranate seeds in the chilled glasses. In a cocktail shaker, combine ice, vodka, orange liqueur, pomegranate juice and lime juice. Shake vigorously about 15-20 seconds.Pour into chilled glasses and garnish with a lime slice or twist. Serves two.

Enjoy New Year's Eve with this easy to make Martini.
                                                  Cheers!
