Watermelon Juice



When temperatures are soaring watermelon is served in various ways as snacks in our house. I Cut as wedges or scoop into balls with a melon baller. But nothing beats a glass of chilled watermelon juice for cooling down on hot sunny days. It's so refreshing and hydrating besides lemonades and smoothies

Watermelon is high in water and extremely nutritious. It's an excellent source of Vitamin-A, Vitamin-C and potassium that is good for immune system. It's bright red color contains higher level of lycopene, an antioxidant which has great benefit for our body. 

Unlike many fruits watermelon doesn't ripen after harvesting. So choosing juicy red watermelon, pick it up and it must feel very heavy, then turn it over and look for creamy yellow spot which means watermelon sat on the ground for longer time. For the sound test, give watermelon couple of firm thumps with palm of your hand. If it makes hollow sound that means it's ready. Look at the picture below. If you get the right one, watermelon juice will be naturally sweet without added sugar but low in calories. Just watermelon, some ice cubes and a blender that's all you need for juicing.  

Ingredients~    
4cups seedless chopped watermelon
Some ice cubes

Method~
Chilled chopped watermelon for 30 minutes. Blend until smooth. If you don't want the pulp strain the juice. Serve with ice. Drink immediately. This is absolutely delicious!
