Minty Lime/Lemonade

No matter how much I am trying not to complain about hot weather I just can't help it. The temperature is soaring high at 109 degrees Fahrenheit/43 degrees Celsius today and there is only way to cool off in the hottest weather to drink ice cold water, lemonades and juice all day long as much as possible.

Lime/lemon drink is one of the easiest coolers with or without any extra flavor. Mint is always in my fridge. So adding mint looks pretty in a drink and it makes more refreshing as well. Minty Lime/Lemonade, a refreshing summer quencher is made with fresh mint leaves, freshly squeezed lemon/lime juice, raw sugar, black salt, and water. You can easily replace stevia or agave nectar for sugar. Lets beat the heat with this quick summer drinks.

 Ingredients~
1 cup freshly squeezed half n half lemon/lime juice
1 cup organic raw sugar + 2 tbsp. extra for rim the glasses
A few sprigs of fresh mint leaves
 1 warm cup water
 6 cups cold water
 1/8 tsp. black salt(optional)
 Ice cubes and lemon/lime slices

Method~
Place the sugar and warm water in a bowl and stir until the sugar dissolves completely. Strain the juice. Gently muddle some mint leaves in each glass with a pestle. For intense mint flavor blend some mint leaves. Pour all the ingredients except ice cubes and lemon slices into a large pitcher and stir well. Taste and adjust sweetness level according to your taste. Refrigerate at least 20 minutes. Place glasses in the refrigerator to chill for a while. Rub a lemon or lime wedge around the rim. Mix sugar and pinch of salt in a bowl. Dip the rim in the sugar salt mixture. Serve with ice, sliced limes/lemons and mint leaves. It will stay fresh in the refrigerator up to 2 days. Enjoy and stay hydrated!
