Dark Chocolate Orange Brownie Christmas Tree

Are you ready for Christmas? We are in the festive mood right after putting up our Christmas tree and enjoying holiday activities. I bake so many special treats around the Christmas holidays. Brownie is one of the easiest treats to satisfy kids' and adults' sweet tooth. I love the orange and dark chocolate combination the most because they mingle together very well. It's a simple recipe for chocolate lovers and the fun part is to decorate with festive touch.

Ingredients~
1 cup(6 oz) Belgian dark chocolate(70% cocoa solids), chopped
1/4 cup flavorless oil or unsalted butter
2 large eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. orange zest
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup all purpose flour
A pinch of baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt

For decoration~
1 /4 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 tsp. flavorless oil
12-16 chocolate sticks/pretzel sticks/candy canes

Method~

Preheat the oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit. Line the bottom and sides of a 9 inch round regular pan or spring form pan with parchment paper. Melt the chocolate with oil or butter in the microwave at lowest setting until smooth stirring in between.

In a large bowl beat the eggs and sugar. Then beat in the orange zest and juice until just combined. In a separate bowl sift the flour, baking powder and salt. Pour the egg mixture into the melted chocolate and mix well, then gently fold in the flour mix until just combined. Do not over mix!

Pour the mixture into the lined pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until tooth pick inserted comes out clean. Leave to cool completely in the pan. Cut brownie into 12- 16 triangular wedges .

Melt white chocolate with oil in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. Give it good stir to make it fluid. Pour the melted white chocolate into a plastic zipper bag. Seal and cut a very tiny tip off the corner of the bag. Gently drizzle over the brownie triangles in a zigzag pattern. Add some festive sprinkles if you want and insert a chocolate stick/pretzel stick/candy cane to create a tree trunk. Let white chocolate to set for at least 15 minutes. Enjoy with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee.

Happy Holidays!!
