Candy Cane Marshmallow Pops

It feels Christmas in our house after we put Christmas tree up on Thanksgiving weekend. Our favorite radio station plays Christmas songs all day long where ever we go. It's time to get ready for holiday shopping, packing as well as cooking and baking.

Christmas can't be without Candy canes, marshmallows, dark chocolates and holiday sprinkles. Every year I make special Christmas treat "Candy Cane Marshmallow Pops" for my kids and their friends. The red and white color candy canes and festive sprinkles look so wonderful to please kids. This is a fun project with kids and super easy to make. I have used gelatin free marshmallows so vegetarian can enjoy this treat too.

Ingredients~
12 small candy canes
12 large gelatin free marshmallows
1 cup dark chocolate chips

1 tbsp. oil
1 cup holiday sprinkles

Equipment
Large baking tray
Parchment paper
food handling glove

Method~
Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Set your microwave power level to 50 percent. Make sure chocolates are in room temperature. Put half chocolate and oil together in a microwave-safe small bowl/cup and melt for 1 minutes. Give it a good stir every 10seconds otherwise it will burn.

Ware a food handling glove so candy cane doesn't get sticky. Unwrap candy canes. Stick  each candy cane into the large marshmallow and dip the marshmallow 3/4 into the melted chocolate. Shake off excess the chocolate and roll into the sprinkles. Place them on the parchment paper lined baking sheet. Melt other half chocolates again and repeat the process with the rest of the candy canes and sprinkles. Refrigerate them to set for at least 20 minutes. These are very simple treats to make kids happy. Enjoy!

                   Happy Holidays!!
